Contest Rules! Very important!(Read Carefully).

One colored ENTRY per deviant allowed!

Donors Can participate.

You must color the lineart given, not anything else. This one is fairly obvious. Feel free to use any medium you like. You can use traditional, digital whatever. Just as long as in the end the lineart is visible. Also, there are no rules whatsoever for the colors you will be using. That is entirely up to you. Be creative and have fun!

No changes should be made to the lineart, with the exception of subtle ones, like tinting the lineart, etc. You can also add extra shadows, if you think it would benefit your work, but nothing major. You can also paint over some of the line art (especially the background, a good control of this technique can really show the colorists skill).

If you're making it look like a painting it's ok to paint over the line art just make sure that its still recognizable. for example:

the colorist completely painted over the line art but still it is recognizable, its the same image just painted on.

You can present your entry in Black & White values, or even grayscale. Those are colors too, after all.

You must, on your journal, mention the contest and add a link to the artist lineart & the contest journal, so people can easily read the rules and get the lineart, should they wish to enter.

All entries must be submitted to DA before the deadline and any entry is submitted after that will be disqualified.
Judging:Judges will be looking at the following:</u>
Coloring skills: If you are good at coloring, you have a better chance of winning, but this is not the only determining factor.
Color template: Colors are more than just something to fill in the lines. the judges will be looking at the color scheme you use to see how you use them in different moods, catch the eye, increase or decrease contrast for effect, and generally strengthen the composition of the art.
Lighting: This is always important in coloring. The use of lighting to make the picture light or dark, to set a mood, or make it more or less dramatic will influence the appeal of the piece.
Composition of backgrounds and use or non use of negative space: Don't automatically think that in order to win, you have to make a background. Sometimes negative space is a good thing. (Negative space is basically the space with nothing in it.) For example, if you feel that the subject really needs to be the focus of the picture, you may choose to leave the background simple... or even blank. This might be a good idea if you put a lot of work into the subject and want that to be noticed. On the other hand, you may have a great idea for a background, and if it does indeed look great and compliment the picture in your opinion, then add it. This is an artistic choice that you must make.
How will my entry be rated? All judges will rate your entry
from 1 to 10, 1 being very poor, and 10 being awesome/perfect. Once all the entries have been rated, the winner will be the one whose average value is biggest.
On the unlikely case that there is a draw between the first 3 positions, *
Joemand vote counts twice for the average(In the end it's his work).
